Yatila, Chandrima, Lucie and Anand picked the Madras Club and clubs in general as communities of choice. Its status as the second oldest of its kind in India after the Bengal Club and its formation initially as a men-only and European-only club in 1832 followed by full (elite) membership to Indian citizens in the early 1960s when it merged with the Adyar Club rendered this an acutely interesting site for analysis.
