Postcolonial Clubbing

Yatila, Chandrima, Lucie & Anand

Yatila, Chandrima, Lucie and Anand picked the Madras Club and clubs  in general as communities of choice. Its status as the second oldest of its kind in India after the  Bengal Club and its formation initially as a men-only and European-only club in 1832 followed  by full (elite) membership to Indian citizens in the early 1960s when it merged with the Adyar Club rendered this an acutely interesting site for analysis.

IIT Madras is a vibrant residential campus that allows students to flourish both personally and professionally. Campus life at IIT Madras is not just about classrooms, libraries and labs. There are several opportunities for students to pursue their favorite activities, refine their skills and discover new talents and interests. The campus is a constant buzz of varied activities and events - academic, co-curricular and extracurricular.
